Imagine, if you will, that you’re sitting at the table eating dinner with your family one evening when you hear a commotion outside.
You rush to a window and see a long line of military tanks rumbling slowly down the street. Masked faces of men with machine guns are bashing open doors and yanking terrified, screaming, children and their mothers outside. Dazed fathers, struggling to protect their families, receive the butt end of a gun in the face for their efforts.
Two of those tanks have now blocked your driveway, and you see a pair of armed thugs storming towards your own door. There’s no time to do anything but huddle your family close together and wait.
Confusion and turmoil have engulfed your nation. Your home, car, property, bank accounts, assets, passports, birth certificates, laptops, pc’s, mobile phones – even your livelihood – have all been confiscated. Permanently.
You find yourselves shunted from one refugee-style camp to another until, after several long weeks, you’re dumped on a reservation of sorts, where you’re permitted to ‘exist’. Everyone is branded with a number – even newborns. Your stomach heaves, hearing the screams of children and babies receiving their scorching brands.
The only information you’re given, is that another country invaded yours, and that you and your fellow countrymen are perceived to be ‘just dumb natives’. Someone may come to collect a few of you, on occasion, who could be useful as free labour for the new regime; those with trades, in particular.
In the meantime, every man, woman and child will now be subjected to the regime’s religious dogma for several hours every day; non-compliance earns torture, followed by being burned alive.
You have one day to say goodbye to your children before they’re taken away from you and sold off as household slaves for your new overlords and their settlers. Babies will be removed to orphanage facilities nationwide until they’re old enough to be sold as slaves.
Sound familiar? Don’t think it could happen in the 21st century? Don’t think it could happen to you?
Wake up, little vegemites. Pay attention. Look around. Take notes. Ask questions.
Ignorance makes a poor defence.

So vivid and merciless. What I hate the most about this scenario is that is has actually happened. To so many different peoples and nations. It makes me sick, disgusted, repulsed, horrified. I wish I could go back in time and rescue them all…
I agree with you, shrinks. And it keeps happening. Today is no different to yesterday and won’t be any different to tomorrow, unless we join forces and stop these unintelligent, self-serving, baboons.
Powerful imagery. It’s easy to forget these things, and it’s easy for nationalism to blind us from how others view US invasions. I went to Nicaragua a couple of times, met a lot of people there, and studied their history . . . and when I get back to the States and listen to presidential debates and commercials with people who say “I don’t ‘pologize for ‘Merica!” I’m baffled. I’m not sure which particular wars you’re referring to here–what you’ve described has, unfortunately, happened often enough–but I know the US is quite guilty of our past imperialism at the expense of others.
Nationalism, Patriotism, Censorship, Solipsism, Apathy . . . all of these things contribute to the violence because we don’t SEE the things we should, we don’t feel them, and we don’t feel responsible.
Warning: long reply!
Thank you, Jefferson. Reality, though, is far more powerful than a thousand words. I was actually imagining the direction in which our western world is heading, although white supremacy has, indeed, treated aboriginal peoples the world over not dissimilarly to these scenarios. Few, except brutalized victims, could care less.
Sadly, many folks either don’t wish to be aware of what’s going on right now, or they stubbornly tell themselves – with a little help from politicians – that life is just ‘business as usual’. Or perhaps mainstream media is either working hard at distracting the general public from real and truthful issues, or their stories are forcibly prevented from being heard.
You’re aware, are you not, that George W. Bush and five of his white house cronies were recently convicted of war crimes in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, yes? The conviction rightfully carries the death sentence. Why should they get away with what they, themselves, murdered Sadam Hussein and countless victims for?
Obama and his administration are next, and ironically, as the article states, support for Malaysia’s hearings against Bush and Obama, come directly from Bush’s own white house counsel, Gonzalez.
Perhaps many missed the following article, dated December 28th, 2012 and entitled, “Obama, Biden Are War Criminals Under Un Charter: Analyst”
(link: http://www.pakalertpress.com/2012/12/28/obama-biden-are-war-criminals-under-un-charter-analyst/).
Barbarism continues under the guise of ‘war against international terrorism’ by paranoid, idiotic, unintelligent and downright evil rock apes at the helm. It doesn’t take much to imagine what life would become if these war criminals, who tout their personal religious standings as though it’s some sort of exemption to all laws, aren’t punished for their crimes.
They lost the right to lead nations of innocent people when they sold out to vile, bloody, evil, greed and murderous hypocrisy.
